The 2025 Primary PE and Physical Activity Conference, organised by Active Kent & Medway took place on Wednesday 26 March, 9:00am – 3:30pm at Kent Event Centre, Detling. The full day face to face conference provides a chance for primary school teachers, sports deliverers and activity providers across Kent and Medway to hear from leading experts and take away ideas to implement in schools.

Keynote Speakers
Emma Brown is a current player for England Deaf Women’s Futsal Team and Team GB Deaf Women’s Football Team. Across sixteen years, Emma has played in nine major European and World Championships as well as 2 Deaflympics winning one gold and five bronze medals during this time. Her career highlight is winning the Euros in 2023 whilst beating Germany for the first time ever in the semi-final. Away from the pitch Emma is a sports coach at Ethelbert Road Primary School and is passionate about teaching sports and ensuring enjoyment for everyone.
Bryn Llewellyn has over 20 years’ experience as a teacher and school leader. Bryn is co-director of Move & Learn (CIC) as well as an advisor for the BBC and Premier League on their education content. He is also the founder of Tagtiv8 with his pioneering approaches to physically active learning, helping schools take learning beyond the classroom walls – crucial when challenging the increasing problem of sedentary lifestyles.
Andrew Liney is Head of Children & Young People in the Children and Young People Policy Team at Sport England. Andrew has over 15 years’ experience in the sports sector and away from the day job is a grassroots girls football coach and is passionate about ensuring that young people are able to shape their experiences of being active.
Workshops and Marketplace
Delegates had the opportunity to attend workshops throughout the day as well as a chance to visit the ever-popular marketplace to explore products and services that Primary PE and Sport Premium money can be spent on. Schools can use their Sports Premium funding to pay for the event and for a substitute teacher to cover a teacher’s absence.
