Each briefing session lasted 30 minutes, giving the speakers an opportunity to share their information and resources and answer any questions. Each delegate had the chance to attend up to three briefing sessions during the conference.

Transforming Lives: The Story of Get Out Get Active

Designed to support disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy being active together, the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) programme has reached over 55,000 people since its inception in 2016. GOGA has become much more than an activity programme, it is an approach to helping organisations and communities, across the UK, to support the least active disabled and non-disabled people in activity.

Learning Disability in Sport and Physical Activity

An insight into learning disability in sport and gives an introduction into how to support people with a learning disability to access sporting opportunities in an inclusive environment. Hear about the Our Active Community – Thanet project which began in February and runs through until March 2027. A community lead approach to achieving sustainable and lasting change to make Thanet a great place for people with a learning disability to lead, happy healthy and physically active lives.

Generating a pathway from participant to mentor for under represented groups
Speaker: Sports Connect
Sports Connect Community CIC and happy here (a local organisation that supports the LGBTQ+ community) worked together to deliver a pathway project enabling progression from participant to coach. Hear from a community sports coach who followed this pathway and uses their life experiences and skills to create opportunities for under represented groups to become more active.

Using Physical Activity to mitigate the risk and limit the impact of Dementia
