Overview
Herne Bay Wanderers FC was formed in 2015 with just two teams and a few committed volunteers. The Club now runs 12 football teams for children aged 3 – 12. It aims to develop players in all areas and work closely with them to improve their individual and team work skills.
Eligibility
The club were offered a grant in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak following the government announcement that there would be support for small businesses based on their rateable value.
What to Apply For?
The club found out about the grant through a colleague. During COVID-19 lockdown period, parents stopped paying subscription fees. Following a consultation with the board, they looked at what effect this will have on the club. They applied for the funding and were awarded £850.
Impact
The funding will enable the club to pre-book the astro pitch and deliver winter training sessions for the children.
