Everyday Active Schools – Creating a whole school approach to physical activity
An introduction to Active Kent & Medway’s Everyday Active Schools programme designed to help schools increase physical activity levels through a workload light and impact heavy approach. Hear how physical activity can be embedded into a school’s culture and ethos to increase the opportunities for children and young people to be active resulting in whole school improvement.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
This workshop will be delivered by Kent Community Health Foundation Trust’s School Health Team and Sport on Your Doorstep, who will explore what pupils are saying about their mental wellbeing and readiness to learn in the classroom following KCHFT’s Lancaster school survey. Sport on Your Doorstep will share their practical experiences of delivering sports sessions for schools managing challenging behaviour and how the right physical activity can make children more prepared to learn and more engaged.
Applying Physical Literacy to PE, School Sport and Physical Activity
This workshop will be delivered by Youth Sport Trust and Gethin Thomas from the University of Bangor to help enhance teachers’ understanding of physical literacy with relatable examples to primary school PE, school sport and physical activity. The session will showcase how keeping physical literacy at the heart of planning and delivery can help schools provide positive physical activity experiences and relationships for all pupils.
Engaging The Least Active With Non-Traditional Activities
This practical workshop with focus on enhancing your offer of inclusive activities demonstrating various warm up games which engage the whole class followed by an introduction to Pickleball as an alternative activity.
