We are seeking a Sport Welfare Officer to support National Governing Bodies for Sport (NGBs) and their local clubs to embed welfare policies and practices, as well as promote good practice and an inclusive culture of safe sport for children, young people and adults. The post holder will add capacity and expertise to the existing safeguarding work of NGBs and Active Kent & Medway. They will not be responsible for carrying out investigations, but they will engage with local safeguarding organisations including the Local Authority Designated Officers, Safeguarding Children’s Partnerships and Adult Safeguarding Board, to connect people working on welfare and safeguarding, both inside and outside sport.
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a safeguarding or a welfare role; building relationships, particularly with volunteers in clubs; and engaging with stakeholders to raise awareness, advocate for safe sport and provide training to upskill the workforce.
