Active Kent & Medway is delightedWoman smiling whilst dancing at a zumba class to announce the launch of the Forever Active Kent Grant, a new funding initiative, delivered in partnership with Kent County Council, designed to help older adults across Kent stay active, connected, and independent for longer.

With Kent’s older population growing rapidly, the grant responds to a pressing need for inclusive and sustainable physical activity opportunities. From walking groups and dance classes to strength and balance sessions, the grant will support a wide range of community-based initiatives that promote healthy ageing.

“Physical activity is one of the most powerful tools we have to delay the onset of long-term conditions, boost strength and balance, and improve mental wellbeing and social connection. The Forever Active Kent Grant is our commitment to reshaping how we support healthy ageing at a community level—empowering local organisations to make a lasting impact.” Elise, Strategic Lead for Health and Physical Activity, Active Kent & Medway.

“Regular physical activity significantly improves a person’s quality of life. The good news is it’s never too late to make changes and get moving; but the sooner you start, the stronger and healthier you will be later in life. If you are interested in delivering activities to help Kent residents get fit for their later years, please sign up to one of the pre-application information sessions to find out more.” Dr Ellen Schwartz, Deputy Director of Public Health, Kent County Council.

Pre-application information sessions will be delivered online. If you’re interested in finding out more, choose from one of these three dates and sign up at Forever Active Kent.
