Ethan profile picI’m a 400m specialist who has represented Great Britain at every age group since under 18. I moved to Kent when I was about 18 months old. I originally played football, but it didn’t quite suit me, so I turned to athletics instead. Since then, I’ve experienced some incredible moments throughout my track and field career, and I’m determined to keep creating more in the future.

What are your sporting achievements to date?

I am a European silver medallist at the under 18 age group in the 400 m and I’m also European bronze medalist in the 4×4 at the under 23 age group. I hold a few national titles in the youth and junior age groups as well as a fair few as England and Kent champion. I went to University in America where I picked up a few medals there too.

How has the FANS scheme helped you reach where you are now?

The FANS Scheme gives me access to gym facilities at Fairfield Leisure Centre in Dartford, so I can work on my strength and conditioning. I recommend the scheme 100%, especially in a sport like track and field where there isn’t as much funding as other sports. Having this really helps take away some of the financial burden.

What are your hopes and dreams for the future?

My hopes and dreams for the future are not only to make several senior teams, but also to bring home medals at major championships such as the Olympics, World Championships, Europeans and Commonwealth Games — any opportunity I have to win a medal, I want to take it. That’s what drives me.
