You will be required to submit the following documentation at the application stage:
Latest Set of Accounts
- Ideally we would like a set of accounts that has been audited and signed off by an external auditor
- Alternatively, applicants could provide a set of accounts including profit and loss and a balance sheet which has been presented to and signed off by the Committee / Trustees.
- If your club/organisation has been running for less than 12 months then we will require a three year projection showing income and expenditure with some detail on how the income will be achieved.
Club / Organisation Constitution
The following details must be stated on the constitution:
- The registered legal status of the club / organisation
- A minimum number of committee members listed
- Signed and dated by authorised officers
- Date the document was adoption and review cycle stated
- A dissolution clause (if no dissolution clause, a named asset-locked body should be stated)

Safeguarding Policies
Following our consultations with The Ann Craft Trust and the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit, we recommend that your safeguarding policies include the elements outlined below. Please note that if any of these elements are missing, we will request amendments prior to approving any funding.
Adult Safeguarding Policies:
- Codes of conduct for staff, volunteers, carers, and participants, linked to disciplinary procedures.
- Definitions of abuse, covering all 10 types of harm under the Care Act 2014, plus additional types like cyberbullying, forced marriage, etc.
- Designated safeguarding lead named with contact details and backup arrangements.
- Legislation references to the Care Act 2014 and relevant devolved legislation.
- Policy statement committing the organisation to safeguarding.
- Recording and reporting guidance on impartial recording, evidence retention, and reporting thresholds.
- Responding to concerns procedures for responding to abuse, neglect, poor practice, and wellbeing concerns. Includes immediate danger protocols.
- Reviewed policy within the past 3 years.
Children’s Safeguarding Policies:
- Codes of conduct are included for a range of roles including coaches and instructors, referees and officials, parents and young people.
- Designated safeguarding lead named with contact details and backup arrangements.
- Definitions of abuse including signs and indicators of abuse within the organisational context.
- Legislation referenced.
- Policy statement committing the organisation to safeguarding.
- Record keeping about the need to record concerns, allegations, and decisions.
- Reviewed policy within the past 3 years.
- Up to date procedures to respond to child protection (including lower level concerns).
