Health & Wellbeing of Adults Newsletter January 2026
Everyday Active
Everyday Active was launched in 2020 following extensive community consultation and engagement by Active Kent & Medway. The website everydayactivekent.org.uk is central to the campaign and highlights the wide range of inclusive and accessible opportunities that are available across the county, for anyone looking to start moving more in their everyday life.
Resources

To help spread the word about Everyday Active and encourage more people to become more active, we’ve produced some Everyday Active posters, postcards and z-fold cards which are free and available to all. Perhaps you’d like to display a poster in your workplace or local community hall? Your local GP Surgery, Library or supermarket?
You can download our resources to print yourself or fill in our order form and we’ll post hard copies out to you. We also have digital screen versions available. Email activekent@kent.gov.uk and we can discuss your requirements.

Latest Blog
Through our Everyday Active campaign, we like to publish personal stories and blogs to help motivate others to move more in ways that work for them. In our latest blog: Finding My Rhythm: How Movement Helps Me Manage My ADHD, Isobel explains how activities like walking in nature, dancing and yoga help her focus, boost her mood and manage her ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Our blogs cover a wide range of topics from the joy of junior parkrun, the benefits of housework, through to mental health matters. Why not take a few minutes to have a read and discover something new today. If you or someone you know has a story to share, just email activekent@kent.gov.uk and one of the team will be in touch.
Kent & Medway NHS Wheelchair Service

Clive Bessant, Community Liaison and Engagement Officer at Ross Care recently delivered an insightful session on the NHS Kent & Medway Wheelchair Service to the Active Kent & Medway team. Clive shared information on the benefits of lived experience of physical disability at individual, organisational and societal levels.
“Lived experience is not just valuable perspective, it is essential expertise that improves quality, reduces inequality and creates fairer, more effective systems.” Clive Bessant
Active Kent & Medway will continue to work with Clive, service users and local activity providers to break down barriers, creating more opportunities for everyone to move more and feel the benefits of an active lifestyle.

Join the next Young Persons Group
Kent & Medway Wheelchair Service is inviting younger service users to their next Young Persons Group. If you or someone you know is under the age of 30 and would like to share their experience, the good and not so good, then please join them on Wednesday 18 February, 11:30 – 14:00 at Gillingham Service Centre, ME8 0NJ.
