SAVE THE DATE: Conference 2027

We’re delighted to announce that the 2027 Primary PE and Physical Activity Conference will take place on Thursday 18 March 2027.
This face to face conference provides a chance for primary school teachers, sports deliverers and activity providers across Kent and Medway to come together, hear from leading experts and take away ideas to implement in schools. Schools are able to use their Sports Premium funding to pay for the event and for a substitute teacher to cover a teacher’s absence. Bookings will open in January 2027.
Join Everyday Active Schools
Is your school looking to create a more active, healthy, and engaged school community? Our FREE Everyday Active Schools Programme supports schools to embed physical activity throughout the school day, helping children move more, sit less, and thrive. Through tailored support, practical resources, and access to a network of like-minded schools, you’ll gain the tools and guidance needed to make physical activity a whole-school priority. Join schools, like Shorne Church of England Primary School, as they embrace the Everyday Active Schools programme and help every child enjoy the benefits of being active every day.
NEW Active Lives Survey

With a new academic year, comes a new Sport England Active Lives Children and Young People Survey. Karen Johnston, our Active Lives CYP Survey Officer will be in touch with all schools who are selected to take part in the survey.
Karen is here to support schools to complete the annual survey. In doing so, schools receive a £100 equipment voucher, plus a report which highlights levels of wellbeing, attitudes towards sport and physical activity and volunteering. The findings are used to shape future policy and investment in school sport. Schools can get in touch with Karen directly at karen.johnston2@kent.gov.uk or phone 07974 437474.

School Games Black History Month

We’re delighted to be hosting our second School Games Black History Month Celebration on 7 October 2026 at Strood Sports Centre. This FREE event will bring together Year 6 and Year 7 pupils for a day of inclusive sporting activities while celebrating the achievements of Black athletes and exploring the challenges they may face in sport.
We are also very excited to welcome international footballer Teni Charles, who will open the event, share her own sporting journey and work with students throughout the day.
Resources Hub for Schools

Our resources hub brings together trusted products and practical tools for you to create positive, active environments for every child. The hub makes it easier for teachers and school leaders to find the right solutions to increase activity levels throughout the school day. Whether you’re looking to embed active learning, enhance PE provision or broaden opportunities before, during and beyond the school day, the resources will support you to get more children moving, more often. We have categorised the resources by seven areas of opportunity:
1. Curricular Lessons 2. Events and Visits 3. Break and Lunchtimes 4. PE Lessons 5. School Clubs 6. Active Travel 7. Family and Community
Mental Health Support

The start of a new year, a new school, new teacher, even a new class can sometimes feel daunting to young people. There are a wide range of services and resources which have been designed specifically for young people to use when they need some support around their mental health.
We’ve collated a list of these services and resources to support schools and local organisations working with young people. There’s also support for young adults aged 18+, along with training opportunities for anyone working with young people.
