Graham RazeyAt the end of January, Graham Razey OBE will be stepping down as the Chair of Active Kent & Medway’s Partnership Board after three fantastic years. During his term, Graham has played a pivotal role in guiding our partnership through significant milestones, including the launch of the Move Together strategy and strengthening collaborations across Kent and Medway as well as championing good governance.

Graham’s leadership has been instrumental to ensuring we are delivering on our mission to make physical activity accessible for everyone, and his vision and commitment have helped us in navigating our evolving role in the system, working with a wider range of partners than ever before as we strive to get more people, more active, more often.

During his time we are proud to have become a Sport England Place Partner in not just one, but four places across the county, to have secured investment for multisport facility activation, for opening schools for extracurricular and community activity, to have launched our Everyday Active Schools Programme and become a trusted partner and collaborator with Public Health and Voluntary Sector organisations across the county.

While we are sad to see Graham leave, we are proud of his achievements and grateful for his unwavering support. His next chapter will see him take on an exciting new role as an advisor to the Secretary of State for Education, a testament to his expertise and passion for improving lives through education and activity.

Liz Davdison-Kennett, Active Partnership Director said,
“Working with Graham over the past few years has been a privilege. From day one he has encouraged us to think big and always reminded us why we do what we do. Graham’s commitment to governance and strategic direction will leave a lasting legacy for our partnership and the communities we serve.”

On behalf of the entire Active Kent & Medway team, we extend our deepest thanks to Graham for his leadership, insight and dedication. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.

A new Chair has been appointed. An announcement will follow later this month.
