I am 16 years old and have competed in Athletics since I was 12. In the past few seasons, however, I have turned my focus to my strongest event, the Javelin throw, where I am now ranked No.1 in the UK for U17 Women this year and No.4 All-time. My current personal best is a throw of 52.28 m.
What are your sporting achievements to date?
So far my proudest achievement would be winning the gold at the Schools International Athletics Board (SIAB) competion in Wales, where I proudly represented England. Other achievements include winning the UK School Games in Loughborough, and the English Schools and England Champs in Birmingham. I have also been the Kent County Champion for 3 years running, and have broken the Kent County record as well as numerous Club records.
How has the FANS scheme helped you reach where you are now?
Thanks to the FANS scheme I have been able to use my local gym, Putlands in Paddock Wood to work on my power and strength, which is crucial for the Javelin throw. I can travel to the gym by a 5 minute bus ride, meaning I can access the gym even when I have a busy schedule, for instance during exam season. Therefore, if it wasn’t for the scheme, I would undoubtedly not be where I am now.
What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
After a successful year competing in 2024, I hope to take my performance even further, with aspirations of throwing in the U20 European Championships, British Championships, and many more. I also hope to reach 60m in the upcoming seasons, and regain my No.1 position as an U20 throwing a 600g Javelin. Finally, the ultimate dream would be to represent GBR in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
