Sports Science & Medicine

Sport science and sports medicine support are important components behind successful sports performers.

Sport science support is provided at the three universities in Kent – Canterbury Christ Church University, University of Kent and the University of Greenwich including:

• Support and testing for individuals, their coaches, groups of performers, groups of coaches and governing bodies of sport
• Advice in many areas including physiology, psychology, biomechanics and nutrition

Sports medicine support is also vital in terms of keeping the athlete ‘in shape’ to perform at the highest levels and is often based around rehabilitation for performers after injury. This can include:

• Sports physiotherapy
• Sports massage
• Osteopathy

FANS Members

Kent FANS members are able to access the sport science support services available at the universities at heavily discounted rates and this includes consultation/ needs analysis which is free of charge.
