The Kent County Council (KCC) Capital Grant for Sport is administered by Active Kent & Medway and is intended for the following purposes:

  • Provision of facilities for the community of Kent, including specialist facilities, training centres and centres of excellence and performance
  • Purchase of new fixed and large scale community equipment
  • Improvements to existing buildings and sites or conversion of redundant buildings
  • Levering funding from other organisations into key schemes in Kent, and demonstrating partnership
  • Providing specialist facilities or equipment for disabled people
  • Increasing participation in sporting activities

Who can apply?

Not for profit community organisations looking to develop sport and physical activity infrastructure such as: Voluntary Sports Clubs, Parish Council, Registered Charities, Schools and National Governing Bodies of Sport.

Applications:

Applications open online from 9am on Monday 9th June and will be reviewed by the funding panel after the deadline at 9pm on Sunday 31st August.  The maximum amount of funding awarded is £5,000, though this is reserved only for projects of countywide strategic significance.

Please note: the average funding award for this grant is currently around £2,500 per project.
