Active Lives CYP Local Picture

Introduction

Sport England’s Active Lives Children and Young People Survey measures the physical activity levels of children and young people (CYP) aged 5-16 years. Active Lives CYP data is published once a year in December. Data is available at National, Regional and District level.

What do we mean by physical activity for children and young people?

  • ‘Active’ is an average of at least 60 minutes a day.
  • ‘Fairly Active’ is an average of 30-59 minutes a day.
  • ‘Less Active’ is an average of 30 minutes a day.
