Refreshed Physical Activity Guidelines

The UK Chief Medical Officers recently published refreshed Physical Activity Guidelines, showing evidence continues to build that regular movement – no matter how small – can have significant benefits for people’s physical and mental health. The updated guidance reflects the latest scientific evidence on physical activity and sedentary behaviour, finding the existing recommended activity levels across all age groups to remain accurate. They reinforce the message that building activity into everyday routines can help improve health and wellbeing.

The Department of Health and Social Care has released a suite of updated resources, including infographics, to help organisations promote the guidance consistently.

Ageing Infrastructure Webinar

Sport England’s Moving Communities webinar took place on 14 July 2026. The theme was ‘Ageing Infrastructure – Restore, Rebuild, Repurpose’ and included an overview of Sport England’s approach to infrastructure and capital support. It looked at how ageing facilities have transitioned into health and wellbeing hubs and explored how the restoration of Templemore Baths and Belfast’s wider Leisure Transformation Programme are delivering more than modern facilities and improving health and wellbeing. You can watch the webinar recording below:
