Active Kent & Medway are proud to support the Release the pressure campaign delivered by Kent County Council.
Evidence shows there’s a strong link between being physically active and improved mental wellbeing but going for a walk or playing a game of football may be the last thing on someone’s mind if they’re facing financial pressures, anxiety, depression or other mental health concerns.
Release the pressure is a free service for anyone who just wants to talk.
You can text the word SHOUT to 85258 or phone 0800 107 0160 for free confidential support and expert advice from trained counsellors at any time. You can also webchat with Mental Health Matters, an independent charity, who are available 24/7.
Release the pressure Resources
Active Kent & Medway invite local clubs and organisations working in the sport and physical activity sector to get behind this important and timely campaign in the hope that together, we can go some way in helping those who need it most.
We have produced a campaign toolkit with downloadable posters, social media graphics and suggested tweets that any local clubs, national governing bodies of sport and other organisations can access to show their support of the Release the pressure campaign.

If you would like to discuss this campaign in more detail or have any questions regarding the downloadable resources, please email activekent@kent.gov.uk. Thank you for your support.
Everyday Mental Health Training
Everyday Mental Health is a free, one-hour training session which is designed to look at mental health in the here and now. Delivered by Mid-Kent MIND, we explore areas such as anxiety and stress, and then look at how we can manage our mental health in proactive ways through the use of positive coping mechanisms. We also look at how we can be pro-active in the ways in which we support others.
If you haven’t had the chance to access mental health training before or would like a condensed refresher on a course you may have accessed in the past, then this is an opportunity which we highly recommend. Everyday Mental Health Training sessions are available online.
